Frequently Asked Questions

What areas do you deliver to?

Event Kitchen provides catering throughout Dublin and may be able to cater for events in surrounding counties.

Delivery availability and charges depend on the location, order size and service required. Enter your delivery details when ordering or contact us for a quotation.

How much notice do you require?

Notice periods vary by product.

Some platters and standard packages can be ordered with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Larger orders, hot buffets, desserts and bespoke events generally require at least seven days’ notice.

If your event is sooner, contact us directly. We may still be able to help, subject to availability.

Is there a minimum order?

Yes. Most products have a minimum order of either 10 or 15 people.

The applicable minimum is displayed on each product page. Bespoke events may have different minimum-spend or guest-number requirements.

How do I place an order?

You can order selected packages directly through our website.

For larger events or tailored catering, complete our quotation form with your date, location, guest numbers and preferred style of food. Our team will then prepare a personalised quotation.

When is my booking confirmed?

An online order is confirmed when you receive written confirmation from us and payment has been processed.

A bespoke event is only confirmed once you have accepted the quotation and paid the required deposit.

Submitting an enquiry does not reserve your date.

Do you require a deposit?

Standard online orders are normally paid in full when ordered.

For bespoke events, we generally require a 25% deposit to secure the date, with the balance payable seven days before the event. Your quotation will confirm the exact payment schedule.

Can I change my guest numbers?

Yes, subject to availability.

Final guest numbers should generally be confirmed at least 72 hours before your event. If numbers decrease after this deadline, the original confirmed amount will remain payable.

Please contact us as early as possible if your numbers change.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our standard cancellation policy is:

  • More than seven days’ notice: refund less the deposit and any costs already incurred;
  • Three to seven days’ notice: 50% of the total order remains payable;
  • Fewer than 72 hours’ notice: the full order value remains payable.

Different conditions may apply to large events, hired equipment or specially sourced products. These will be stated in your quotation.

Can you accommodate allergies?

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate allergies and dietary requirements when we receive accurate information in advance.

However, our food is prepared in kitchens where all major allergens may be present. We cannot guarantee that any product is completely free from traces of an allergen.

Anyone with a severe allergy should contact us directly before ordering.

What do your dietary labels mean?

Our commonly used labels include:

  • V: Vegetarian
  • VGN: Vegan
  • GF: Made without gluten-containing ingredients
  • DF: Made without dairy ingredients

These labels describe the intended ingredients. They do not guarantee the absence of cross-contact in our kitchens.

Do you offer vegetarian and vegan options?

Yes. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are available across many of our menus.

Tell us your requirements when ordering or requesting a quotation, and we can recommend suitable options.

Is delivery included in the price?

Delivery is not automatically included unless this is clearly stated on the product page, checkout or quotation.

The delivery cost depends on the address, timing and size of the order. Any applicable charge will be shown or agreed before the order is confirmed.

Are plates, cutlery and napkins included?

This varies by package.

Disposable serviceware may be included with certain packages. Crockery, glassware, linen, reusable serving equipment and collection services may incur an additional charge.

Your product description or quotation will clearly state what is included.

Do you provide serving staff?

Yes. We can provide chefs, waiting staff, supervisors and event service personnel where required.

Staffing is normally quoted separately and depends on the event duration, guest numbers, menu and service style.

Do you set up the food?

Basic delivery and setup may be available depending on the package.

Full buffet presentation, staffed service, clearing and equipment collection can also be arranged. Please tell us what level of service you require when requesting a quotation.

Can you cater at our home or chosen venue?

Yes. We cater in offices, private homes, community venues and event spaces.

The venue must have safe and suitable access. Depending on the menu, we may also require preparation space, electricity, water or refrigeration.

Can you provide a completely bespoke menu?

Yes. Our chefs can create menus tailored to your event, budget, service style and dietary requirements.

We cater for corporate events, private celebrations, funerals, weddings, BBQs, launches, receptions and other special occasions.

Do you cater for funerals at short notice?

We understand that funeral arrangements often need to be made quickly.

Our funeral packages can be ordered with 48 hours’ notice. Contact us directly if you need assistance, and we will do our best to accommodate you. We pride ourselves on being able to assist on short notice for bereavements

Can I collect my order?

Collection may be available by prior arrangement.

Collection times and instructions must be agreed before the order is confirmed. Food should be transported and stored in accordance with the instructions provided.

How will my food arrive?

Depending on the menu, food may arrive ready to serve, chilled with reheating instructions, or in equipment designed to keep it at a safe serving temperature.

Your order confirmation will explain any storage, heating or service requirements.

How long can I keep the food?

Food should be consumed within the period advised when it is delivered.

Perishable food must be refrigerated promptly where appropriate. We do not recommend retaining food that has been left at room temperature for an extended period.

Any leftovers are stored and consumed at the customer’s own risk.

What happens if an item is unavailable?

Occasionally, an ingredient or product may be unavailable.

We may suggest a suitable alternative of similar quality and value. We will not knowingly substitute an item in a way that conflicts with a declared allergy or dietary requirement.

How quickly will I receive my quotation?

We aim to respond to quotation requests within 48 hours.

Complex events may require additional information before a final price can be provided.

What information should I include in my enquiry?

To help us prepare an accurate quotation, please include:

  • Event date and preferred service time;
  • Delivery or venue address;
  • Expected guest numbers;
  • Type of event;
  • Preferred menu or style of food;
  • Dietary and allergen requirements;
  • Staffing requirements;
  • Equipment or serviceware requirements; and
  • Your approximate budget, if available.

What should I do if there is a problem with my order?

Please provide your order number, event date and photographs where relevant.
